HARPER PERKINS ARCHITECTS is a multi-disciplined firm of Architects, Programmers, Planners and Interior Designers. The philosophy of the Principals of the firm is to keep the firm size to about ten professionals so that the client can be better served by individual and personal attention. HPA and its predecessors have a long history of service starting in 1955 and continues as follows:
1955
Charles Harper graduates from Texas Tech and begins his professional career.
1958
Charles is registered as an Architect in the State of Texas.
1961
Charles moves to Wichita Falls from Lubbock as an associate in a local architectural and engineering firm.
1962
The firm Harper, Martin and Associates is organized in Wichita Falls as a business partnership with Charles Harper and Clarence Martin, PE, as partners.
1968
Harper and Martin dissolve their partnership and Harper becomes the sole stockholder of Charles Harper Associates.
1972
Ralph Perkins graduates from Texas Tech and joins the firm as an Intern Architect.
1976
Perkins is registered as an Architect in the State of Texas and is made Project Architect for the firm.
1979
Perkins becomes a stockholder in Charles Harper Associates along with Harper and the firm name is changed to Harper Perkins Architects, Inc.
1997
Ralph Perkins is named President of Harper Perkins Architects; Charles Harper remains Chair of the Board of Directors and CEO. Glenda Ramsey joins firm as a Project Architect.
1998
Glenda Ramsey is elevated to the position as Project Architect in Charge of Production.
2001
Firm is re-organized. Harper is Chief Executive Officer, Perkins is President and Ramsey is Vice-President.
2004
Perkins and Ramsey become the sole stockholders in the firm. Harper’s services are retained as a continuing Consultant for the firm.
2006
HPA reorganized with Ramsey becoming principal stockholder and President. The firm is certified as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB).
